Do everything.....

So if you haven't noticed
(or don't really know me...yet)
I have a bit of a artsy side.
I love artistic things!
Music, drawing, poetry.....
Well guess what?
I have another song for
you guys.  =)
This song I have been in love with since
the first time I heard it.
I refer to it as my theme song.
So here is a snippet of the song.
(I will have my own little comments
in parenthesis)  :)

Your picking up toys on the living room floor for the fifteenth time today
(Dog toys to be exact)
Matching up socks
Sweeping up lost cheerios that got away
(Well it was more like apple jacks and dog &/or cat food)

You put a baby (or dog) on your hip
Color on your lips and head out the door

While I may not know you,
I bet I know you
Wonder sometimes, does it matter at all?
(Yeah, does it really matter sometimes?)

Well let me remind you, it all matters just as long
As you do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you,
Cause he made you,
To do
Every little thing that you do
To bring a smile to His face
Tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do...

"Do Everything"
By Steven Curtis Chapman

WOW!  How is that
for a reality check?
No matter what we are doing,
whether it's work, school, or
even just sweeping the kitchen,
we need to be doing it for God's glory,
not for our own.
BAM!  That's it! Plain and simple.
That is a really hard thing to do sometimes.
I know for me there are times where
I don't want to do my homework or
do just enough to get by.
I am in a drawing class
(Side note: I LOVE that class!
I'm think of majoring in art)
and when I look around
at every one's art, I
feel my drawing is inferior
to everyone else and that
I can't even hope to measure up.
But then I remind myself that
the only reason I can draw is
because God has allowed me to.
If he has given me this gift shouldn't I
use it for Him?
My constant reminder to myself
is that I am doing it for Him
and not little me.
If I do stuff for me then
what is my life's work going to amount
to in the end?
N-O-T-H-I-N-G
that's what!!
So let me sum up what I am trying to say:
Doing everything for me = epic fail!
Doing everything for God's glory
even when it's hard to do = AMAZING WIN!
=)

Awesome Linzie.
It's the hard to give God the glory when things
are not going my way. But when i give up & give Him the praise, what happens next is amazing. I know if it was not for Him,I woudnt be who I am today.
